New Games
ROUTE Takes Off Ricardo’s minimalist puzzle masterpiece launched in pre-release and immediately captured the community’s attention with 23K+ plays. Players are calling it “one of the most well-made games” on the platform.
I'm not even joking, ROUTE by @RicardoDeZoete is one of the most well-made games I've ever seen or played.
The simplicity of the gameplay loop in combination with the ultra-clean UI, calming sfx and music, and visual fidelity makes for a perfect HYTOPIA game. Very… pic.twitter.com/V6Ra8nAawJ
KINGDXM Enters the Arena Dresnite just dropped KINGDXM Pre Release, an ambitious MMORPG where players choose factions, claim custom land, forge unique weapons, and tackle fresh weekly quests. The world is dynamic, social, and endlessly customizable, exactly what HYTOPIA was built for.
With the desktop editor in creators’ hands and SDK performance at new heights, we’re expecting an avalanche of new content. The infrastructure is ready, the tools are powerful, and the community is hungry.
Whether you’re building the next viral hit or exploring the latest games, November was the moment HYTOPIA shifted into high gear.
TL;DR: Since launching our SDK in February 2025, we’ve grown to 143k+ users with 1.93M minutes of playtime. September alone saw 150% growth in users and engagement, with the platform now averaging 5,000 game sessions daily.
When we launched our SDK Alpha in February 2025, we weren’t sure what to expect. Seven months later, the numbers tell a story we’re incredibly proud to share with you.
What is HYTOPIA?
For those new here, HYTOPIA is a browser-based gaming platform where creators build instant-play blocky games using TypeScript and JavaScript. We’re building what we believe gaming should be: no downloads, no barriers, just click and play. Built with Three.js, our platform lets developers create multiplayer games that run in browsers, on desktop, mobile, and as app.
What sets us apart?
Creator-First Economics We give creators a higher percentage of marketplace fees than Roblox—because we believe in rewarding the people who make great games, not extracting maximum value from them. Even better, creators earn 5% automatic royalties on every player-to-player resale of their items. Your creations keep paying you long after the initial sale. All assets live onchain via Coinbase’s Base network, giving creators true ownership with the option to sell and withdraw funds.
Built for Developer Productivity Everything happens in one place: hytopia.com/create is your complete dashboard for uploading games, configuring marketplace items, viewing stats, and managing your creations. Need to build a map? Our browser-based World Editor at build.hytopia.com lets you create by placing blocks and models, no complex 3D software required.
The development experience is ridiculously fast. Run your server locally with one command, test instantly in your browser via localhost, and watch changes reflect immediately; no recompilation needed. When you’re ready to ship, we automatically deploy your game to geo-distributed servers across the globe, ensuring players connect to the nearest region with minimal latency.
Technical Advantages That Actually Matter Our server-authoritative engine means game logic runs on secure servers, not client-side. You write the game once, and it automatically works cross-platform – web, desktop, mobile, all without changing game logic. Only UI and control tweaks are needed.
Speaking of UI: you design interfaces using familiar HTML and CSS instead of wrestling with complicated game engine UI systems. Building a 2D layer over a 3D game is usually painful, we made it simple.
The blocky aesthetic isn’t a limitation; it’s a feature. Players instantly understand the visual language, and creative constraints often lead to more innovative solutions and a more coherent platform.
Zero Friction for Players Players click a link and they’re in-game within seconds. No client download, no registration wall, no hunting through menus. Just instant play, anywhere, on any device. That’s the accessibility we’re prividing.
The Growth Story
Let’s talk numbers. Our metrics from February to September show something special happening:
143K+ total users across 177 countries worldwide
1.93M minutes of playtime (that’s almost 4 years worth of gameplay)
245K+ platform visits
Averaging 5,000 game sessions per day in September

Games That Are Winning
Our games page shows the variety creators are building. Here are some standouts:
SkyGarden [Open Beta] has 38K+ plays since launching in August. It’s an open-world farming sim meets MMORPG built by SkyGarden Studios, showing what’s possible when talented developers get access to our tools.
Steal My Brainrot captured 30K+ plays with its viral concept. Sometimes the best games are the ones that just make you laugh.
Cookie Clicker brought the classic idle game format to our platform with 16K+ plays, proving that great gameplay transcends graphical style.
Frontiers, our flagship MMORPG built by co-founder ArkDev, features quest systems, NPC pathfinding, persistent progress, and multiple interconnected regions. It’s a demonstration of what a single developer can accomplish with our SDK.
Beyond individual games, our HYTOPIA Game List page drew 340K+views and our homepage attracted 157K+ views, showing strong discovery behavior from players exploring what’s available. (source Google anlaytics)
Real Developers, Real Games
Our Creator Fund doubled from $125,000 to $250,000 in September due to demand exceeding expectations. We’re offering up to $25,000 per studio along with engineering support, marketing assistance, and a preferred revenue split.
In August, we welcomed IROC Studios to our Creator Fund; creators of Game Store Tycoon with 110+ million Roblox plays. They’re building Pawtopia on HYTOPIA.
Then in September, Retro Shrimp joined our Creator Fund to develop Hyper Ball Arena exclusively on HYTOPIA. These are Roblox veterans with over 1 billion combined plays across their games. When developers of that caliber choose your platform, it means something.
In addition to our announced studios, we have multiple to-be-announced studios still in the design, testing, and development stages of their games.
But it’s not just established studios. Over 50% of the first games on our platform were made by people who’d never coded before. That’s the democratization of game development we’re fighting for.
What’s Next?
Seven months ago, we launched with a SDK and a vision. Today, we’re approaching 150K+ users, nearly 2 million minutes of playtime, and a growing library of games spanning every genre imaginable, from tactical FPS (VoxFire) to kart racing (KARTLAND) to MMORPGs (Frontiers).
But the numbers only tell part of the story. The real story is the developer who published their first game ever on our platform. The Roblox veteran who chose HYTOPIA for their next title. The player who discovered a game through a simple link share and played for hours without downloading anything.
We’re building the future of voxel gaming, and you’re all part of it. Thank you for being on this journey with us.

Let’s dive into the latest developments!
HYTOPIA Game Jam 2: Chaos, Code, and Community
The wait is over—HYTOPIA Game Jam 2 is officially live. Whether you’re a seasoned developer or a first-time coder, HYTOPIA Game Jam 2 invites you to build web-based mini-games using our SDK and AI-powered “vibe coding.” Here’s what you need to know:
Theme: Freestyle (no restrictions—unleash your wildest ideas)
Duration: 14 days to build + 7 days of judging
Tools: HYTOPIA SDK + AI-powered MCP Server
Prize Pool: $5,000
Newcomers can lean on HYTOPIA’s AI tools to jumpstart their projects, while seasoned developers are already flexing their skills with advanced mechanics.
“Over 50% of the first games on our platform were made by people who’d never coded before. We’re expanding the pool of game devs—not fighting over the same ones.” said ArkDev
We’ve launched the MCP Server (Model Context Protocol (MCP), a first-of-its-kind system designed to simplify game development for everyone. Think of it as a digital puzzle master: when faced with a complex task (like coding a weapon system or designing a destructible environment), MCP helps AI break it down into smaller, manageable pieces.
Here’s how it empower creators to:
Generate code snippets, game logic, and even entire structures via natural language prompts.
Debug and optimize projects in real-time with AI assistance.
Seamlessly collaborate with AI agents like Claude 3.5/3.7 (used to build HYGROUNDS—more on that below!).
The impact is already visible in projects like HYGROUNDS, a frenetic mashup of Fortnite’s chaos and CallOfDuty’s precision, built using Claude 3.5/3.7.
HYGROUNDS just dropped – @FortniteGame's chaos + @CallofDuty's gunplay – all in HYTOPIA's style world, powered by HYTOPIA SDK & vibe coded w/ Claude 3.5/3.7.
Mobile gaming is no longer an afterthought. Our new Mobile Development Guides equip creators to optimize controls, performance, and cross-device playtesting. Key features include automatic guest accounts (no sign-up needed), cross-platform synchronization (players can jump between devices mid-game) and tools to ensure smooth gameplay on everything from budget phones to high-end tablets.
One of March’s most exciting updates lets creators import Minecraft maps directly into HYTOPIA. Using the World Editor, builders can convert legacy Minecraft worlds into HYTOPIA-ready environments with a single click—opening the door for endless cross-platform creativity.
While large maps (>500×500) may temporarily lag during conversion, the team is already optimizing performance.
“This is about respecting the Minecraft community’s legacy,” said ArkDev. “We’re not replacing their work—we’re giving it new life.”
Minecraft Map Conversion Is LIVE 🎮
Bring your Minecraft creations to HYTOPIA. Use our World Editor to import, convert, and export any Minecraft map into HYTOPIA—unlocking endless possibilities for your games.
“The speed at which these games come together proves our engine’s power,” ArkDev remarked. “We’re seeing Roblox-level creativity without the complexity.”
Founder’s Vision: Why HYTOPIA?
“We’re building a home for the next generation of creators,” ArkDev wrote. “And with AI lowering the barrier to entry, the best is yet to come.”
In a recent community post, ArkDev outlined HYTOPIA’s core philosophy:
Fairer revenue splits: Developers keep 40% of earnings vs. Roblox’s ~20%.
Simplicity-first design: Code in JavaScript/TypeScript, design UIs with HTML/CSS, and let HYTOPIA handle physics, netcode, and scaling.
Early-mover advantage: Front-page visibility for pioneering games.
Co-founder Temptranquil also weighed in on community curiosity about HYTOPIA’s web3 future.
“We’re not just slapping NFTs onto a broken model. Every element, tokenomics, avatar interoperability, node systems—is being stress-tested for long-term balance. Whether you’re a passive holder or an active creator, our ecosystem will reward meaningful participation.”
Im sure everyone is wondering “where the heck is the web3 stuff?” while we push hard on the marketing surrounding the game engine and vibe coding.
We haven’t forgotten about it, in fact quite the opposite. It’s just taking some time to get right. Not only are we working on…
Both founders echoed a shared conviction: “When this flies, it’ll fly fast. But we owe it to our community to make sure the foundation is unshakable first. We’re iterating faster than ever. The pieces are falling into place.”
What’s Next?
April will bring Game Jam 2 submissions, performance upgrades, and experiments with AI-driven NPCs.

We’ve been experimenting with AI models like Claude 3.7 to push the boundaries of what’s possible in HYTOPIA.
A recent demo by @Potrock_ showcased how AI can be used to build entire game worlds just by chatting with it. Imagine typing a simple command like /build a house with a tree in front, and watching the AI generate the code, place the blocks, and even self-correct errors—all in real-time.
Here’s how it works:
The AI writes the code to define structures (like walls, floors, and windows) using nested loops and functions.
The code is executed on the server, and if there’s an error, the AI fixes it automatically.
This approach eliminates the need for manual block placement, making it faster and more efficient to create complex builds.
This is just the beginning. As AI continues to evolve, we’re excited to explore how it can empower creators to build bigger, better, and more immersive games in HYTOPIA. Watch the demo here
